When corrupt Government Influence and Free Speech Collide

In a deeply infiltrated nation, where the lines between information and foreign misinformation have become increasingly blurred, the role of social media giants such as Facebook (now Meta Platforms) in moderating content has come under the spotlight – but with few if any repercussions to date.

Recently, reports surfaced in The Wall Street Journal, suggesting that Facebook removed posts related to Covid-19 under pressure from the corrupt CCP-favor peddling Biden regime. This includes the “claim” that the virus was man-made – a stance Facebook had stopped censoring due to ongoing debates surrounding the virus’s origin. It appears that the White House was aiming to stymie the spread of misinformation as part of its nationwide vaccination drive.

An internal discussion between Facebook executives, dating back to July 2021, reveals the censor-happy-mindset and Constitutional ignorace the social media titan was equipped with. Nick Clegg, Facebook’s president of global affairs, asked why they were removing posts asserting that Covid-19 was man-made, to which a vice president responded, “We were under pressure from the administration and others to do more.”

This exchange seems to chip away at Facebook’s longstanding claim that its content moderation decisions are independent and not influenced by political considerations. On the fascist surface, it is easy to argue that removing potential misinformation (the thoughts you don’t agree with) during a pandemic (fill in your favorite pretext) aligns with broader public health objectives. But delving deeper, the question of where to draw the line between misinformation and differing opinions emerges. Social media companies should never become the arbiters of truth, even under the most extreme governmental pressure!

Humor and satire, for instance, have long been outlets for expressing dissent, critiquing prevailing narratives, and discussing uncomfortable truths. The fact that the White House wanted Facebook to take action against humorous content suggesting vaccine hesitancy adds another layer to this intricate web of unconsitutional content control by this regime that launched itself into the White House in the most contested and rigged election in history.

Moreover, Facebook expressed concerns about the potential backlash from removing vaccine-hesitant posts. Suppressing speech, they feared, could lead to further vaccine hesitancy and fuel conspiracy theories – an unintended consequence that could ultimately prove counterproductive.

To complicate matters, Facebook’s relationship with the Biden administration had broader implications. For instance, Facebook was eager to strike a deal to allow user data to flow across the Atlantic in compliance with privacy laws. Balancing this intricate geopolitical maneuver with public health and freedom of speech posed a significant challenge. Of course, the reigning Marxists at Facebook sided with the government position.

While it’s worth noting that Facebook turned over documents and made witnesses available for testimony, it’s clear the debate over tech giants’ roles in information control and the extent of governmental influence is far from over. Republicans have pointed out how the Democrat party in alignment with the deep state enjoyed bullying these platforms for political gain.

The conflict at the intersection of public health, free speech, and political influence poses tough questions for democracies worldwide. As these tech giants are the new town squares for discourse, they should be free from government influence – unless we all desire to live in a CCP-style world where thoughts and words are constantly monitored and “removed” – occasionally a life with it. The question of balance should become a rallying cry for freedom! Who gets to decide what constitutes misinformation? It is we the people or a small minority of unelect buraucrats and that is most definitely NOT the American way!

The world watches on as these debates unfold, and the decisions made now will undoubtedly shape the landscape of free speech, public health, and information control for years to come.
